Last year, I think was the first year why I realized why this event was so important. It is about the sense of community these families need during what is arguably one of the most stressful ordeals that they have to deal with. It is really about supporting these people, virtual strangers and letting them know that someone cares about them and their child... It is about cheering on their happy moments and supporting them through the sad... It is about life being so precious and fragile and how we take it for granted... I take this on because I realize that these families in our community need our support, need to feel that people care and are there for them...I take this on because I never realized how much they needed to know they are cared about, that their child is valued and loved and seen for all that they are and all that they can be by a virtual stranger who just wants the best for them... It is this little quiet moment that really seems so fun to me as a participant but is so moving to them to know that people care that makes this event so special and why I choose to take it on year after year

After a year of intensive chemo and cranial radiation, with a lot ...
