WHY I'M RUNNING

And here we go again for year three. Every year I say I don’t think I can do it again because let’s be honest, 1 mile every hour for 24 hours with no sleep and last year by the time it was all said and done I logged over 35 miles in that timeframe when you add getting to and from the starting line…yeah it’s not easy but remembering what it’s like to finish and knowing I’m helping not only the wish kiddos and their families you see, but the 250+ whom you don’t see who also benefit from all of our efforts and are battling more challenges than ”just” a 24 hour event, I just can’t say no. This year I am on Team Paisley and whatever support you can give, whether it’s by making a donation to support the efforts of me and 300 other runners, joining me for a mille or two or coming to visit, or just your good thoughts, prayers and vibes, your support is appreciated more than you know. #AndSoWeRun

Behind that smile is a fierce warrior who bravely fights, and is winning, against pediatric cancer. Paisley was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) shortly following her first birthday in July 2021. This was an extreme shock considering her joyful manner and normal bloodwork. Looking back there is still so much gratitude for the providers who listened to a mother’s intuition about a faint yet concerning ...
