WHY I'M RUNNING

My very first 24 in 24, I was on Team Luke. This year, that has become deeply meaningful and personal, given his recent, and heartbreaking passing. I didn’t initially realize that part of signing up to grant wishes, could also mean losing your very own wish kid. It brings me great joy to know that Luke’s wish was granted because of the efforts of the 24 and 24. I am grateful to have played a small part in that, and to have met such a remarkable kid, though his time with us was cut devastatingly short. Pediatric cancer also runs near and dear to my heart through Penn State THON and my cousin, Ryan who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 15. The 24 in 24 has given me far more things than I will ever be able to repay. I have met some of my best and life long friends through this event as they share the same passion. It is an honor to run beside them, and my sister, to grant wishes for those who deserve them most.
