I am participating again this year because I want to continue to be someone who helps grant kids their wishes. For these kids and their families this event helps bring some joy and fun into their very stressful lives throughout the entire year. The least I can do is train for a few months in order to be able to raise money for someone else & their families. I hold this even close to my heart as I have friends whose son has been a recipient of wishes from A Special Wish Cleveland. I will also be running for all the Special Wish Kids.

About Team Joey

Joey was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in October 2018. He had many ups and downs throughout the intensive treatment he received but overall achieved remission and was set to be done with treatment in March 2021. Two weeks before his last dose of chemo, we found out he relapsed in his spinal fluid - his central nervous system. While this was devastating news, we are thankful it was caught before it had spread to his bone marrow, which would have made his prognosis and treatment much worse.
