WHY I'M RUNNING

When I tell people about the 24 in 24 and how I run one mile every hour for 24 hours their response is usually why or that's crazy. Then I tell them why. I tell them about kids like Luke are why I run this event every year and will run every year until I can't. I run to give back to these families who have gone through so much. I run because the money we raise goes right to these kids and their families. I run to give these kids their one big wish that goes beyond anything they could ever imagine. I run because because none of us know what's going to happen tomorrow. As much as it's hurt these past three years losing wish kids like Vivian, Darian and now Luke. I know that by running this event every year I will be able to honor them and keep their legacy alive and get the chance to tell people about their amazing life.

About Team Brendan

Brendan was born on September 9th, 2020, in the SDU at CCF main campus. We were aware he had a heart defect at 31 weeks gestation however we truly didn't know how he would do once born. Full diagnosis was unbalanced left ventricle dominant AV Canal Defect, multilevel RVOT obstruction, right aortic branch mirror imaging, bilateral SVC with TOF physiology. He thankfully did not need surgery at the time he was born and went home at 9 days old on one medicine. However, 4 days later we were in the ER being sent downtown for observation.
