WHY I'M RUNNING

We became members of The Special Wish family back in 2018. Over the last 5 years their generosity from the Sparkles of Joy to countless Princess meetings, food drops, emotional support, and granting Big Wishes have left us speechless. Our family was blessed to experience the kindness, generosity, and all the other emotions that come with this event first hand. In 2019 our daughter Cece was one of The 24 in 24 Wish Kids. This will be our 5th year being part of this amazing event. We’ve experienced it as a Wish Family, as Volunteers, and this year as a Challenger for the 3rd time. It’s been an honor and pleasure witnessing A Special Wish NEO grow into what they are today. Running 1 mile every hour for 24 hours is nothing compared to the challenges these Wish Kids go through on a daily basis. With your support we can continue helping them grow and making Big Wishes come true!!!

About Team Amelia

Amelia was born on December 31, 2014. She came into this world as a 23 week, 1lb 2oz micro-preemie. Her twin sister Grace was only 7 oz and passed away at two hours old. Amelia spent the first 176 days of her life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She developed hydrocephalus due to two brain bleeds within the first few weeks of her life which required a VP shunt to be placed to drain the excess cerebrospinal fluid from the ventricles in her brain. We faced many obstacles while in the NICU; a severe infection that led to sepsis, ...
